New Delhi World Book Fair 2014

After a rain splashed chilly Valentine's Day, Delhi is all decked up to host the New Delhi World Book Fair 2014 at Pragati Maidan from 15-23 Feb at 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The NBT is holding the Book Fair for last 41 years and it is one of the largest and oldest literary event of India. I attended the Book Fair last year and was overwhelmed by the sheer number of stalls, publishers and crowd turnout! A day at Pragati Maidan is sure to uplift any book lover's spirit and I feel for the next nine days it is going to be a popular hangout for youngsters.

As is the norm, the Fair will see its fair share of authors and Bollywood biggies. And I am sure Author's Corner is going to be a major attraction. Over 300 writers are expected to attend the Book Fair and quite a few of them would participate in 60 minutes session of book reading, discussion and readers' interaction. Ruskin Bond is the Guest of Honor and would be present for a story telling/ discussion session.

Also look out for Polish literature as this year, Poland is the Guest Country. A special emphasis would be on children's books, as this year's Fair is based upon the theme of Kathasagar and special arrangements have been made to involve kids by organizing painting/writing competitions.

You can get more information on the official website and can also get your tickets booked online. Happy Reading Delhiites! Have fun at Pragati Maidan :)
